    Carlo receives the Sacrament of Baptism at Our Lady of Dolours, Chelsea, surrounded by his grandparents, aunt Adriana, and great-grandmother Adriana.

  3. Return To Milan

    Carlo returns to Milan with his parents, who had been in London for work. Milan becomes the home of his childhood and youth.

    Carlo attends nursery at the Parco Pagani municipal nursery school in Milan.

    He starts elementary school at the San Carlo Institute in Milan, then transfers after three months to the Tommaseo Institute of the Marcelline Sisters, where he will complete both elementary and middle school.

    Carlo falls ill. At first, doctors think it is a common flu, but his condition quietly begins to worsen.

  10. Diagnosis Of Leukemia

    His condition deteriorates rapidly. He is taken to the De Marchi clinic in Milan, where he is diagnosed with fulminant M3 acute leukemia.

  11. Transfer To Monza

    Carlo is moved to San Gerardo Hospital in Monza for intensive treatment as doctors struggle to respond to the aggressiveness of the disease.

  12. Sacraments Of The Sick

    Conscious of his approaching death, Carlo asks to receive the Anointing of the Sick and Holy Communion. He offers his sufferings for the pope and the Church.

    On October 11, Carlo lapses into a coma due to a cerebral hemorrhage caused by leukemia. Doctors declare him clinically dead at 5:00 p.m. His heart stops beating the next morning, October 12, 2006, at 6:45 a.m.

    Carlo’s funeral is held at Santa Maria Segreta in Milan. The church is so crowded that many mourners must remain outside.

    Transfer Of His Body

    Honouring his wishes, Carlo’s body is transferred from the cemetery in Ternengo to Assisi, a city he deeply loved.

    Cause For Canonization Opens

    The diocesan cause for the beatification and canonization of Carlo Acutis officially opens, and he is given the title Servant of God.

    Nihil Obstat Granted

    The Holy See grants the Nihil Obstat to Carlo’s cause, allowing the process toward beatification and canonization to continue.
